We’re in a wonderful location….in the Teme Valley, where three of England’s most picturesque counties, Worcestershire, Shropshire and Herefordshire, meet.
Walking and enjoying the countryside
There’s spectacular countryside all around us, perfect for walking or just enjoying space and fresh air. Head north to the Long Mynd or Clee Hill for amazing views; or south for the stunning Malvern Hills. Or to Mortimer Forest or Wyre Forest for beautiful woodland trails and dog walks.
The Black & White Villages Trail is a drive through some of the country’s prettiest villages.
Steeped in history
The nearby town of Ludlow is steeped in history – with beautiful architecture, a magnificent castle (once a Royal Palace) and fantastic views from St Laurence’s, recognised as one of England’s finest churches.
Tenbury Wells has historic pump rooms, an art-deco theatre / cinema, as well as a lovely selection of independent shops – including a fantastic deli, greengrocer, fishmonger and chocolate-maker.
Nearby Leominster and Bromyard are famous for their vast array of antique and bric-a-brac shops.
Famous for food and drink
Ludlow has a thriving food scene and is well-known for great places to eat and drink – and on most days, there is a market of one sort or another. It’s home to one of the country’s busiest food festivals. Our area has many superb country pubs (most are dog-friendly), bistros, cafes and farm shops, focusing on local, seasonal produce. CSONs at the Green Cafe, situated on the river in Ludlow, is one of our favourites! Or take a scenic drive through beautiful countryside for Sunday lunch at the award-winning Riverside at Aymestrey.
Our local town, Tenbury Wells is known as the “town in the orchard”, the perfect place to try the local cider or apple juice. At Brook Farm we grow fruit and make a small range of delicious preserves and juice!
Beautiful gardens
There are many beautiful gardens to explore – including Stockton Bury Gardens (just a few miles away) and The National Trust has several properties in the area. Berrington Hall, Brockhampton Estate and Croft Castle are well worth a visit, as is Witley Court, with a beautiful lake and fountains. And if you’re looking for trees and plants for your own garden, we’re less than a mile from Frank P Matthews, one of the best and largest tree nurseries in the country.
We think this is a truly special little spot – with something for everyone. Visit us – and see what we mean.
